If you want to make a donation for use by the Greenville Police Department, you may donate to the Greenville Police Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

Officers Lepak, Franco, Sample, Leewood, and Sergeant Irick declared the Special Olympics Basketball Invitational open on Feb 10, 2017.

Hero Day at West Greenville Community Center (Zone 1)
The Greenville Police Foundation and the Greenville Police Department hosted the first Hero Day at the West Greenville Community Center on April 22, 2017. Members from the Police Foundation and Police Department played kickball, tug-of-war, and soccer with kids, enjoyed a great cookout with community members, and had a great afternoon with our community!
Special Olympics South Carolina
Last year, 78 different law enforcement agencies in South Carolina raised $880,000 while increasing awareness for Special Olympics games and athletes. The Greenville Police Department participates in many events during the year to raise money for both the local and international organization.
Law Enforcement Torch Run is the law enforcement-led fundraising entity that supports Special Olympics, and represents our continued commitment to increase awareness, raise funds, and provide support for South Carolina's approximately 25,000 Special Olympics Athletes.
It is our hope that our community will help support our efforts through tax-deductible donations to this worthy cause.
Upstate Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics
Greenville Police joined with other Upstate law enforcement agencies to run to Columbia in the 2017 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics on May 4-5, 2017. This 126-mile relay coincides with other relays from around the state and concluded on May 5th on the steps of the Statehouse in Columbia.
Police Mountain Bike Challenge
Greenville police officers participated in the inaugural 2017 Police Mountain Bike Challenge to benefit Special Olympics South Carolina. The South Carolina National Guard Armory in Columbia, SC hosted the event on March 31, 2017, and the Greenville Police Department sent a team, sponsored by Carolina Triathlon, to compete with teams from North and South Carolina.
2017 Freezin’ for a Reason on Paris Mountain
GPD officers formed a team to take on the Paris Mountain Polar Plunge, on Feb. 25, 2017, in support of Special Olympics South Carolina. Each officer raised at least $250 for a team total of $3,730, and our team took home the award for Top Fundraising Team!
