The City of Greenville requires a site development permit for all land disturbing activities. Examples of projects which require a site development permit include: site work for the construction of a new building; construction or expansion of parking lots; and construction of a townhome, condominium, or apartment development. Projects such as the construction of a single family residence and their accessory buildings and emergency repairs to utilities or structures do not require this permit.
The City of Greenville has two different permits for site developments. Type I Permit: For those projects which disturb .5 acres or more. Type II Permit: For projects which disturb less than 0.5 acres.
