Youth Commission Leads Recycled Art Project

In November, the Youth Commission kicked off a Recycled Art Project with area middle schools. They had nine entries, all of which were from Beck Academy.
The Categories were: Stand-Alone, Wall Décor, Ornament and Overall
The rules were:
All submissions must be made from recycled materials with a few exceptions. Each craft must be in some way holiday or winter themed. All submissions must be able to either stand alone or hang on the wall or on a tree. Thus, crafted hanging ornaments may weigh no more than 1 pound. Standing displays must be no larger than 2 ft. x 2 ft. weighing no more than 3 pounds.
The Youth Commission judged the nine entries, and since that time, they were on display at the Hughes Main Library. Thanks to the Greenville Zoo, Chocolate Moose and the Recycling Office for donating the prizes and thanks to the Hughes Library for allowing the projects to be displayed.
The winners are:
- Lillie Anderson – Best Submission in the Wall Décor
- Madeleine Moseley – Best Submission in the Ornament Category
- Arianna Milicia – Best Submission in the Stone Alone Category
- Kate Daly – Top Overall Submission
