The Swamp Rabbit Trail continues along the Reedy River into Cleveland Park after
passing underneath Cleveland Street. Many of the trails in Cleveland Park have been
around for nearly 30 years; only recently were sections of the trail that follow
the Reedy River designated as the Swamp Rabbit Trail. The Swamp Rabbit Trail corridor utilizes just over 1 mile of the park trails and connects Falls Park to the Hincapie Path.
In addition to the main spine of the trail, there are approximately 2 miles of additional paved pathways in the park, connecting trail users to the Greenville Zoo, baseball diamond, tennis courts, park shelters, dog park and fitness equipment. The trail width varies and the crosses over the Reedy River and tributaries several times. We are currently finalizing design on the rehabilitation of approximately 2 miles of these trails, including a new bicycle and pedestrian bridge that will eliminate the need to use the narrow sidewalk along McDaniel Avenue.
In addition to the paved trail there are several hiking/ mountain biking trails, the Fernwood Nature Trail, and the Ramona Graham Fitness Trail.
This trail and the Riverwalk/ Falls Park trails are shown on the 2008 Trails and Greenways Master Plan as the Reedy River Trail.
