What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) Feeds are an easy way to keep up to date on city
news. RSS files provide news updates from a website in a simple form for your
computer. You read these files in a program called an aggregator (or
newsreader).
Subscribing to Greenville's RSS Feeds
The City has three RSS Feeds - the city calendar, news releases current job postings - to help keep
you informed with frequently changing content. Follow the directions below to get
started with RSS Feeds:
- Step 1. You will need a newsreader to easily access RSS feeds.
Many free readers are available, including Google Reader and FeedDemon. You can also configure your desktop email
application to contain your feeds.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I subscribe to RSS without using a newsreader?
Yes - you can choose to view your feeds in your web browser; however you will be limited to viewing them one at a time.
To add a feed to your web browser, simply click on the links below and select "Subscribe" at the top of the page. The subscribe button will only appear the first time you visit the page. After that, your feeds will appear under the RSS icon on your
web browser.
Will subscribing to RSS allow me to receive information about all updates made to the City of Greenville's website?
No. At this time, RSS Feeds are only available for official City news releases, the city events calendar and available jobs.
