LOAD A SMARTCARD OR USE THE UMO APP FOR EASY TRAVEL
Umo (previously named TouchPass) is an electronic ticketing system that allows customers to pay their bus fare by tapping a reloadable smartcard or a smartphone app to an electronic fare reader as they board the bus.
Umo speeds up the boarding process and eliminates the need for passengers to have cash or coins on hand or worry about lost transfer tickets. Simply link a debit or credit card and add funds or a pass to your account through the mobile app or the Umo Passenger Portal whenever it’s convenient for you. Passengers who prefer to pay with cash or need to obtain a reloadable smartcard* can visit the information booth inside the Transit Center at 100 W McBee Avenue.
Greenlink customers who qualify for a reduced fare will need to bring documentation to the information booth and have their Umo accounts updated to reflect their appropriate fare category.
REGISTER YOUR ACCOUNT FOR ADDED BENEFITS
As an added benefit, customers who register their Umo accounts can freeze their account if they lose their Umo card and then transfer their account balance to a new card*. Customers can also utilize an auto-load feature to replenish their account whenever it drops below a certain balance. Greenlink recognizes that some customers may not be able to afford the upfront costs of some pass products. As a tool to increase equity, Greenlink has enabled Fare Capping on Umo accounts. Fare Caps (the maximum amount a customer is able to spend) are set at the 7-Day pass and the 31-Day Pass rates that the customer is eligible to receive. For example, a full fare adult customer using Umo will never spend more than $12.50 a week or more than $50 per month. The system tracks the customer's spending, and once the Cap is reached, all rides for the remainder of that period are not charged.
Greenlink customers can download the Umo app by searching for "Umo Mobility" in the iOS or Android app store, or scan the QR code below.
To obtain a reloadable smartcard* or top up your account with cash, visit the information booth inside the Transit Center at 100 W McBee Avenue.
For more information on how to use the Umo ticketing system visit support.umomobility.com or call 864-467-5000 with any questions.
Purchase Tickets for Other Individuals
Are you ordering tickets or passes on behalf of a non-profit organization or a health & human services agency that provides tickets or passes to eligible individuals requiring transportation assistance to/from work, medical appointments, or other vital services?
Non-profits and health & human service agencies can purchase single-trip paper tickets with unique QR codes that can be distributed in-person to the clients that they serve. Additionally, these organizations can purchase pre-loaded smartcards, or add passes to existing Umo smartcards or Umo App accounts.
Please complete this form to begin the order process for bus tickets and passes.
Account Linking
If you have a registered Umo card account, you can link your account to others and buy transit passes and stored value on their behalf. Follow this step-by-step guide to link accounts and purchase passes for those individuals directly in the Umo Passenger Portal at UmoPass.com.
*Effective July 1, 2020: Greenlink transitioned all paper 20-Ride Paper Punch Passes to Umo. Effective January 1, 2021, Greenlink resumed charging a $2 fee for all new or replacement Umo smartcards. Umo cards are reloadable and therefore a recurring fee is avoidable by reusing and refilling existing Umo smartcards.
Greenlink will not issue refunds for unused tickets, passes, or Umo balances.
