Project Management

One City Plaza

Capital projects, development agreements and other public infrastructure construction projects require someone on City staff to act as project managers during design as well as construction. Construction Inspection is assigned management responsibilities for some of these projects.

Examples
Examples of some of the project types that are managed by the City include construction of streets, bridges, storm drains, sewer mains, underground utilities and sidewalks.

Project Management versus Inspection
While Construction Inspection does not manage all public infrastructure construction projects we do on occasion manage Capital projects that we have been assigned. However, Construction Inspection does perform inspection services for the City on all City Capital projects.

Construction Noise

On April 12, 2021, City Council approved an amendment to adjust the days and times that noise generated by construction activity is exempted from the City’s noise ordinance. The goal of the amendment was to strike a reasonable balance between allowing construction activity and the peaceable enjoyment of property, particularly in residential areas.

As a result, the sounds produced by construction machinery, heavy-duty equipment, and machines and equipment used for construction, repair, cleaning and maintenance of buildings, streets, or public or private premises are exempt from the noise ordinance - even when they cause a disturbance - between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday.
