Submitting An Event to the Community Calendar

All submissions will be reviewed before posting to the city's Community Calendar. The city has the discretion to determine which public events will be included in the calendar. The events should provide entertainment, food or other attractions to a diverse population, and promote the economic benefits of tourism or enhance the quality of life of the community. All events must be open to the general public (for free or cost), located within the City of Greenville and organized for non-profit purposes.

Shuko Watanabe, Lecture & Performance

Dr. Watanabe, who has performed previously in Greenville at the home of Thomas (Artistic Director and Curator of the Carolina Music Museum) and Deborah Strange, is an internationally known expert on Japanese contemporary music. The concert, sponsored by the Japan American Association of South Carolina, presents Dr. Watanabe in a performance of an eclectic program of Japanese Contemporary Piano music on the modern piano and Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and Petty on the historical keyboard collections of the museum. In demand as lecturer all over the world, and having presented at over 70 universities and colleges, she will also speak about the “Traditional Music of Japan.” This is a free concert, but a reservation is required.
