With two separate roadway construction projects getting underway, residents are asked to proceed with caution when driving, riding and walking.

McDaniel Avenue Curb Ramp Replacement

Work is expected to begin on Monday, April 26, to replace the curb ramps, which provide access between the sidewalk and the roadway, along McDaniel Avenue to make them ADA-compliant. A total of 42 ramps will be replaced and the project is expected to take 2 - 4 weeks to complete (weather permitting). During that time, temporary closures and detours may be necessary. As a result, motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution when traveling in the vicinity and to watch for flagmen and other construction personnel and equipment.

West Stone Avenue Paving

SCDOT is scheduled to begin a paving project on Stone Avenue between Rutherford Street and Bennett Street this Sunday, April 25. The work will take place at night and lane closures will be required. The project is expected to take at least a month to complete. Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution when traveling in the vicinity and to watch for flagmen and other construction personnel and equipment. For more information about the project, call SCDOT at 241-1224.
