[ARCHIVED] Road Closures Planned Friday and Saturday

The City of Greenville is kicking off the holiday season this weekend with several popular events and activities, including Night of Lights on Friday and the Poinsettia Christmas Parade on Saturday. With large crowds expected, residents are encouraged to plan their route, leave home a little earlier and use a parking facility located on the side of town they’re coming from to avoid traffic delays. Parking info, including a map of all City parking facilities, is available at parking.greenvillesc.gov.

The streets below will be closed from 3 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Friday, December 3 for Night of Lights, Greenville’s official tree lighting, which begins at 5:30 p.m. in front of M. Judson Booksellers (130 S. Main St):

  • Main Street, from McBee Avenue to Broad Street
  • Court Street, from City Hall parking lot to Soby’s parking lot

The streets below will be closed on Saturday, December 4 for the Greenville Poinsettia Christmas Parade, which begins at 6 p.m. and travels up Main Street from Augusta Street to North Street. View road closure map (need hyperlink)

1 PM – 8:30 PM

  • Main Street, from Broad Street to McBee Avenue
  • Court Street at Main Street

3 PM – 8:30 PM

  • Main Street, from Pendleton Street to Augusta Street
  • Anderson Street, from Pendleton Street to Main Street
  • Markley Street, from Rhett Street to Main Street
  • Wardlaw Street, from Rhett Street to Main Street
  • O’Neal Street, from Rhett Street to Main Street
  • River Street, from Boggs Street to University Street

3:30 PM – 8:30 PM

  • Main Street, from College Street to North Street
  • Main Street, from North Street to Washington Street
  • Main Street, from Washington Street to McBee Avenue
  • Main Street, from Broad Street to River Street

5 PM – 8:30 PM

  • North Street, from Richardson Street to Spring Street
  • Coffee Street, from Main Street to Brown Street
  • Washington Street, from Laurens Street to Spring Street
  • McBee Avenue, from Laurens Street to Spring Street
  • Brown Street, from North Street to McBee Avenue
  • Broad Street, from Laurens Street to Falls Street
