On June 2, 2016 at approximately 5:24 PM Greenville Police responded to the area of Hillside Drive and I-385 in reference to a possible suicide attempt.
On arrival officers observed a white male on the Hillside Drive Bridge that is over 385 North and South. The male subject verbally threatened to cause harm to himself. As a precaution Hillside Drive, I-385 North and I-385 South had to be shut down completely.
The Greenville Police Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the scene. The Crisis Negotiation Team was able to successfully intervene and prevent the male subject from causing harm to himself. The male subject was secured off the bridge and transported to the nearest hospital to be medically evaluated.
At approximately 7 PM Hillside Drive, I-385 North and I-385 South were reopened.
