[ARCHIVED] Police Promotions Announced

On January 17, 2017, Chief Ken Miller will be effecting seven promotions. The promotional ceremony will be held in the City Council Chambers at 3 p.m. which is located on the tenth floor of City Hall. Members of the Media are invited to attend. The ceremony will include one Communications Supervisor, two Police Master Patrolmen, three Police Sergeants and one Police Lieutenant.

Promotions:

Communications Supervisor Traci Weeks joined the Greenville Police Department in 2012 and has served in Communications. During her career, she has served as a Communications Training Officer and has received several commendations. In 2015 Traci received the Communications Specialist of the Year Award for the department and was also promoted to Communications Specialist II in the same year.

Assistant Communications Administrator Dustin Sherbert joined the department in 2012 and has served in Communications. During his career, he has served as Communications Training Officer and has received several commendations. Dustin also received the award for Communications Specialist of the Year in 2014. Dustin was promoted to Communications Supervisor in 2014 and will now serve as the Assistant Communications Administrator.


Master Patrolman Jessica Crawford joined the Greenville Police Department in 2008 and has served in uniform patrol and administration on the Community Outreach Team. During her career, Officer Crawford has served as a Field Training Officer and has received several commendations. Master Patrolman Crawford will be pinned by her mother, Stephanie Hawkins.


Master Patrolman Shamika Gibbs-Sanders joined the department in 2009 and has served in uniform patrol. During her career she has served as a Field Training Officer and has received several commendations and awards from the department to include the Distinguished Life Saving Award and Recruit Officer of the Year Award. Master Patrolman Gibbs-Sanders will be pinned by her father, Luther Sanders.


Sergeant Mark Holbrooks joined the Greenville Police Department in 2002 and has served in uniform patrol and traffic reconstruction. During his career he has served as Field Training Officer and received several commendations. Sergeant Holbrooks was also promoted to Master Patrolman in 2015. He will be pinned by his wife, Darlene Holbrooks.


Sergeant Michael Hammett joined the Greenville Police Department in 2007 and has served in uniform patrol, the K9 division and as a school resource officer. Sergeant Hammett has received several commendations throughout his career as well as several certifications, to include field training officer. Sergeant Hammett will be pinned by his children, Justin and Sean Hammett. 


Sergeant Charles Lane joined the Greenville Police Department in 2007 and has served in uniform patrol and on the Crime Response Team. Sergeant Lane has been a member of the Honor Guard and Crisis Negotiation Team. He has also received several commendations throughout his career. Sergeant Lane will be pinned by his grandfather, Gerd Konieczny.


Lieutenant Michael Austin joined the Greenville Police Department in 2000 and has served in uniform patrol, on the K9 team and in internal affairs. Lieutenant Austin has received many commendations throughout his career. He was promoted to Corporal in 2002 and then to Sergeant in 2013. Lieutenant Austin will be pinned by his brother, Steve Austin.
