The City of Greenville Parks & Recreation Department is offering a wide variety of cultural, social and physical activities for the entire family this fall. Check out our fall programs guide below!

Youth Programs (ages 3-14)

Study Buddies After School Program (August 20 - June 4)
The Study Buddies After School Program is offered at five community centers. This program runs Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and features homework assistance, tutoring, life skills development, recreational activities, arts and crafts projects and much more.

Soccer (September 8 - October 30)
Our co-ed youth soccer program provides skill instruction and games for ages 3 through 9. Practices and games are held at Holmes Park. U4, U6, U8 and U10 programs are available. Please call our Athletics Division at (864) 467-8011 for more information.
Happy Feet Dance Program (September 10 - May 11)
Break out those dancing shoes and get your child involved in our program for ages 8-15. This program offers a variety of genre-specific dance classes, including ballet, jazz, creative movement, lyrical and hip-hop. Please call the Nicholtown Community Center at (864) 467-4330 for more information.

Flag Football (September 22 - November 10)
The 10U co-ed recreation flag football program is designed to provide an enjoyable recreational, yet competitive, experience that focuses on the basic skills of flag football. Practices and games are held at Gower Park on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. Please call our Athletics Division at (864) 467-8011 for more information.
Girl Scouts
Please call the David Hellams Community Center at (864) 467-4327 or the Nicholtown Community Center at (864) 467-4330 for information about our current troops and their meeting times and locations.

Don't miss this unique recreation experience! Our Mobi-Rec truck is overflowing with games and activities for children of all ages, so be sure to check out our schedule and come join the fun.

Adult Programs

Active Adults Senior Program
For men and women age 55+. This program is sure to keep you busy. From field trips to craft days and so much more, you won't want to miss out on the fun and fellowship that this program offers. The Active Adults Senior Program meets Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the David Hellams Community Center.

Fitness Boot Camp
Designed for all fitness levels, our boot camp focuses on flexibility and muscular strength and endurance. Classes meet two times a week at the Sears Recreation Center. A new 7-week session begins Tuesday, September 4.

Senior Softball League (September 10 - October 22)
The Senior Softball League is a NEW athletic program offered for men age 55+. The league is designed to provide safe, fair, friendly, yet competitive, play for senior adults. Please call our Athletics Division at (864) 467-8011 for more information.

Strictly Cha-Cha Dance by Ballroom Alchemy (Classes begin September 10)
This is an introduction to social partnership dancing for ages 16 & up. In this 4-week progressive course, you'll learn how to lead or follow basic rhythmic steps, turns and styling for cha-cha from DIVDA-certified instructors. Please call the Nicholtown Community Center at (864) 467-4330 for more information.

Ladies' Night Out
Ladies, this one is just for you! Our ladies-only get-togethers are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the David Hellams Community Center. Please contact the center at (864) 467-4327 for more information.

Upstate Shag Lessons
Learn South Carolina's official state dance. This 4-week session is designed for beginner and intermediate dancers and classes are held at the Sears Recreation Center. Lessons start the first Monday of each month. Please call (864) 467-4326 for more information.

Greenville International Folk Dance
Enjoy the world's favorite music and dances, some mild exercise and a welcoming community. This group meets Monday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sears Recreation Center to learn and practice circle dances, line dances and couple dances from around the world. 

Downtown Line Dance
Dance the night away on Tuesday evenings at the Sears Recreation Center. Participants will learn the dance steps for popular social dances such as the Cupid Shuffle, Electric Slide, Cha-Cha Slide, Tush Push, The Wobble and Good Time. Class begins at 6:15 p.m. and lasts for 45 minutes.

Greenville Swing
If swing is more your style, join us each Tuesday at the Log Cabin at McPherson Park. Beginner swing lessons start at 7:30 p.m. and open dance begins at 8 p.m.

Greenville Lindy Hop
The Greenville Lindy Hoppers host a swing dance class every Thursday night from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Sears Recreation Center. Beginner and intermediate lessons are available for those with two left feet or those who want to learn more than the steps their friends can teach them. Come learn to dance like the pros.
