'Tis the season to be jolly! The City of Greenville Parks & Recreation Department is offering a wide variety of cultural, social and physical activities for the entire family this winter. These great programs are sure to make your days merry and bright.

Santa's Workshop

Santa's Workshop - December 8

Santa Claus is coming to the Sears Recreation Center (100 E Park Ave) on Saturday, December 8 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Bring the entire family to Santa's Workshop to enjoy the festive atmosphere, the craft-making stations and the warm cider and cookies. Plus, take a free picture with Santa and Mrs. Claus! For more information, call (864) 467-4326.

Youth Programs (ages 3-14)

Holiday Break Camp (December 27 & 28 and January 2, 3 & 4)
For children ages 5-12. This camp is held at the Sears Recreation Center and there are two sessions to choose from. Session 1: December 27 & 28. Session 2: January 2, 3 & 4. Camp runs from 7:30 a.m. to  6 p.m. and the days are packed full of games, crafts, music and much more.

Basketball (November 26 - February 30)
Our co-ed youth basketball program provides skill instruction and games for ages 4 through 12. 6U, 8U, 10U and 12U programs are available. Practices and games are held at the Park Avenue Gym and the West Greenville Community Center. For more information, call the Athletics Division at (864) 467-8011.

Happy Feet Competition Dance (December 15 - April 1)
Calling all co-ed dancers ages 9-16! Our competition dance program is for those with intermediate to advanced dance experience in several dance styles. Competition dance requires focus, confidence and precise technique. Tryouts will be held on Saturday, December 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Nicholtown Community Center. For more information, call (864) 467- 4330.

Happy Feet Instructional Dance (September 10 - May 11)
For ages 8-15. This program offers a variety of genre-specific dance classes, including ballet, jazz, creative movement, lyrical and hip-hop. For more information, call the Nicholtown Community Center at (864) 467-4330.
Girl Scouts

Adult Programs

Christmas Gala - December 7
Purchase your tickets today for a festive night of music, food and dancing! This year's gala will be held on Friday, December 7 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Greenville Convention Center. For tickets, call (864) 467-4327.

Active Adults Senior Program
For men and women age 55+. This program is sure to keep you busy. From field trips to craft days and so much more, you won't want to miss out on the fun and fellowship that this program offers. The Active Adults Senior Program meets Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the David Hellams Community Center.

American Sign Language 1 and 2 
Interested in learning how to sign? Our American Sign Language 1 and American Sign Language 2 classes will help build your vocabulary and enable you to communicate on a basic to intermediate level. It's never too late to learn something new! Classes begin Monday, January 14 at the David Hellams Community Center. For more information, call (864) 467-4327.

Spanish 1 Language Class
If you've always wanted to learn another language, this is a great place to start. Spanish 1 is for beginners who have little to no Spanish speaking background. Classes begin January 7 and are held Monday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m. at the David Hellams Community Center.

Senior Softball League (Spring 2019)
The Senior Softball League is a NEW athletic program offered for men age 55+. The league is designed to provide safe, fair, friendly, yet competitive, play for senior adults. For more information, call the Athletics Division at (864) 467-8011.

Ladies' Night Out
Ladies, this one is just for you! Our ladies-only get-togethers are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the David Hellams Community Center. For more information, call (864) 467-4327.

Greenville International Folk Dance
Enjoy the world's favorite music and dances, some mild exercise and a welcoming community. This group meets Monday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Sears Recreation Center to learn and practice circle dances, line dances and couple dances from around the world. 

Downtown Line Dance
Dance the night away on Tuesday evenings from 6:15 to 7 p.m. at the Sears Recreation Center. Participants will learn the steps for popular social dances like the Cupid Shuffle, Electric Slide, Cha-Cha Slide, Tush Push, The Wobble and Good Time. 

Greenville Swing
If swing is more your style, join us each Tuesday at the Log Cabin at McPherson Park. Beginner swing lessons start at 7:30 p.m. and open dance begins at 8 p.m.

Greenville Lindy Hop
The Greenville Lindy Hoppers host a swing dance class every Thursday night from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Sears Recreation Center. Beginner and intermediate lessons are available for those with two left feet or those who want to learn more than the steps their friends can teach them. Come learn to dance like the pros.
