Submitting An Event to the Community Calendar


All submissions will be reviewed before posting to the city's Community Calendar. The city has the discretion to determine which public events will be included in the calendar. The events should provide entertainment, food or other attractions to a diverse population, and promote the economic benefits of tourism or enhance the quality of life of the community. All events must be open to the general public (for free or cost), located within the City of Greenville and organized for non-profit purposes.

Redistricting Public Meeting

Monday, October 3, 2022

The City of Greenville will host public meetings in September and October, to provide information and gather feedback as the City begins the redistricting process.

The 2020 United States Census showed a shift in population density within the city limits, meaning districts are no longer balanced. The law requires population equity among the districts, so the City’s redistricting goal is to have four council districts that are as close to the same number of people as possible.  

City Council members will make final decisions with input from City residents and assistance from staff on how the new lines are drawn. The upcoming meetings are the public's first opportunity to provide input. No draft redistricting maps have yet been drawn; the City is seeking preliminary comments.

Public meetings will be held in each Council district. Residents can attend any of the meetings as the information shared will be the same. Meetings include:

  • Monday, October 3 - Prisma Health Welcome Center at Unity Park (District 2)
  • Tuesday, October 4 - Nicholtown Community Center (District 3)
  • Monday, October 17 -  Bobby Pearse Community Center (District 1)
